Deploy a UAT Finance and Operations environment on PPAC
Up until February 2026, LCS has been a the go-to to deploy and manage finance and Operations environment.
If you are starting a fresh implementation any day greater than today 21st April, you must go via aka.ms/ppac. Going through LCS will redirect you to the power platform admin center.
Before we deploy, there’s a slight change the naming convention with the unified environments:
In LCS, we had :
- PROD -> UPE
- UAT -> USE
- DEV -> UDE
| Unified environment type | Abbreviation | Power Platform environment type | Elastic compute | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unified production environment | UPE | Production | Full scaling | Live production workloads |
| Unified sandbox environment | USE | Sandbox | Full scaling | Testing, UAT, staging, training |
| Unified developer environment | UDE | Sandbox | Single AOS (no scaling) | X++ development |
Now, let’s create a UAT environment or a Unified sandbox environment aka USE.
Go to Power Platform admin center aka.ms/ppac
- In the navigation pane, select Manage.
- In the Manage pane, select Environments
- In the Environments page, select a New
- In the type, select sandbox
- Pick a region
- Under the Change default, select Make this a Management Environment
- Click Next

On the next page, we will enable dataverse
Because, we selected Make this a Management Environment, a hidden setup is automatically checked:
Add a Dataverse data store?

Important: You need to edit the URL to select an environment name to make up the URL for both CRM and ERP environment.
- Check the box Enable Dynamics 365 apps
- In the Automatically deploy these apps options, select none. We will specifically deploy Dynamics Finance (F&O) later on.
- Click Save
It takes about 20-30 mins to deploy the black Dynamics standard environment.
Now, the next steps involve deploying an actual Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment. We will be installed Two different applications one after the other.
Once ready, select, the new environment.
- Resources -> Dynamics 365 apps

Select Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Provisioning App

Once you click okay, you are redirected to a page to select few configurations as below:
