Get record count on a form in Dynamics Finance and Operations

To have a consistent views of pages in D365FO, forms patterns are used and we often come accros grids. Employees, vendors, sales orders list page are few examples. We can further filter records on grids, using filter expressions.

There are instances where we want to have a count of these records, filtered or unfiltered. The basic thing we do in Ax 2012 and earlier versions of D365FO is to export the records to excel and have a count.

In the latest version, we can get the count of selected record by enabling the footer section of the grid.
