Module ‘XXX’ is missing the following dependencies: ‘XXX’, ‘XXXX’, ‘XYY’, ‘YYY’.
Working as a Technical consultant, there are moment when we would like to import models from one environment to another.
Models are essentials when it comes to customization in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. Custom models are created and references standard models. The reference are stored in a Descriptor file.
After importing a model via project import, you might face some reference error when models references are not available on the destination environment. In my case, I have “Module ‘Gems_SRV’ is missing the following dependencies: ‘Gems’, ‘Gems_HR_Reports’, ‘NIBSSINT’, ‘PurchaseOrderExt’.”
Ideally, I should be able to update the model parameters in Visual studio by going through : Extensions -> Dynamics 365 -> Model management -> Update model parameters.
But, no because the reference file is broken, I am faced with a blank page 🤐.
To resolve this, we will edit the descriptor file directly. By going to K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\Gems_SRV where Gems_SRV is the imported model. Open with notepad and remove the missing model reference lines.
